January 6, 2025(1 event) 8:30 am: NRA Basic Pistol Shooting – 
Course Goal: To teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. Some of the topics in the course includes; gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, selecting and storing a pistol, the fundamentals of shooting and pistol inspection and maintenance. During the training of the course, an NRA Certified Instructor will validate comprehension and application of gun safety rules; range protocol; proper handling, loading, and unloading procedures; application of pistol shooting fundamentals; stable shooting positions; live fire; and final shooting qualification. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified |

January 13, 2025(1 event) 8:30 am: NRA Pistol Instructor Course – 
This 16-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a prerequisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire that will be emailed to candidates after they register for the course. The first part of day two will be live fire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises (shooting requirements and manipulation of firearm to clear malfunctions). Description: The course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training, and discipline-specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course and complete an instructor certification examination. |
