February 8, 2025(1 event) 8:30 am: NRA Range Safety Officer – ![]() Develops NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Course Evaluation form. |

February 10, 2025(1 event) 8:30 am: NRA Basic Personal Protection Inside The Home – ![]() Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. Prerequisite: This course is for law-abiding adult citizens and experienced shooters Prospective participants can demonstrate that they have the requisite by producing an NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate. Description: This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and course completion certificate. |

Prerequisites: Must be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. Description: Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Instructor Candidate Packet. |

February 22, 2025(1 event) 8:30 am: NRA People On Target (Pistol First Steps) – ![]() NRA People On Target Instructional Clinics (First Step Pistol Orientation) provide a thorough introduction to firearm safety, handling, and shooting skills. In this clinic, we will be going over handguns. Instructed by Certified NRA Instructors and Range Safety Officers. Clinic Consist of; Firearms Safety, Parts, Operation, Ammunition, Fundamentals of Shooting, Live Fire Exercise, and NRA Continued Training Opportunities. Agenda: 8:00-8:30 a.m. Sign-in, 8:30-12:00 noon Classroom instruction (NRA certified instructors), 12:00 noon – 1:00 Lunch, 1:00 – 4:00 pm Round Robin at A Place To Shoot. Cost: $75.00 (pre-registration required). Cost includes the use of firearms, targets, and ammunition. The clinic is rain or shine. Note: Clinic is limited to 20 participants. Payment is required to confirm a spot in the clinic. Free goody bags for all participants. |
