April 27, 2026(1 event) 8:30 am: NRA CCW Instructor – Prerequisite: Must be a current Certified Pistol Instructor as a perquisite for certification as an NRA CCW instructor. This certification is not available to Apprentice or Assistant Pistol Instructors, and the Law Enforcement Division Handgun Instructor is not a substitute. Description: Course may be presented in three parts: Basic Instructor Training, discipline specific instructor training and the Live-Fire Range instructor training. Instructor Candidates demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and must pass a written instructor certification examination. Additionally, the Instructor Candidates must pass the CCW Instructor Level shooting qualification Course of Fire. The NRA CCW Instructor Course will focus on developing the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for Instructor Candidates to teach carrying and using a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and with confidence. As a result of participating in this course, the Instructor Candidate will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: How to apply the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm, basic principles of concealment, the difference between cover and concealment, drawing from the holster, levels of mental awareness, developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal defense, clearing common stoppages, and more. This course is only conducted by NRA Certified CCW Training Counselors. |

May 7, 2026(1 event) 6:00 pm: Oak Tree Fun Shoot 2/3 Gun at Rifle Range – 1st Thursday of the Month, Rifle and Pistol Fun Shoot! Come down and sharpen your skills, with variable range, rapid fire cardboard and steel targets. Make sure to bring spare mags, as most courses will involve a reload (or two!). Ammo and rentals available on-site! |

May 9, 2026(1 event) 9:00 am: Women On Target Intermediate – 
This course is all range shooting. You will learn Defensive Shooting technics for shooting behind concealment/cover. Learn the different between Point Shoot, Flash Sight, and Sighted shooting. Learn single handed shooting, shooting from kneeling position. Learn how to handle 3 types of stoppages that could occur. This course is approximately 5 hours. Course Requirements: you must have completed a Basic Beginners shooting course (NRA Women On Target, NRA First Steps Pistol, NRA Basic Pistol, or a USCCA Basic Handgun Course). NRA Member’s Council of the Antelope Valley will Supply 100 rds. of ammunition, targets, One on one trainer to student guidance and range fees. |

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target. This course includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot shotguns at moving targets. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; shotgun parts and operation; shotgun shell components; shotgun shell malfunctions; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting at straight away and angled targets; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Shotgun Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Shotgun Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate. |

May 14, 2026(1 event) 6:00 pm: Women's Fun Shoot Oak Tree Gun Club – Oak Tree Gun Club has a Women's Only Fun Shoot the second Thursday of the month. Start time is 6pm till 9pm. Fun shooting paper and steel. Keep track of your time to knock steel plates down. Female Instructors there to help. |

Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises. |

This is a basic Handgun Clean Course. You will learn how to make your cleaning area safe and how to disassemble your handgun. We will discuss solvents and oil, parts of the cleaning kit, what order do you do thing, how to reassemble your firearm, and function check. |
May 21, 2026(1 event) 6:00 pm: Pistol Fun Shoot Oak Tree Gun Club – On the 3rd Thursday of the month Oak Tree Gun Club host a head to head pistol fun shoot. See how fast and accurate you are. Fun shoot starts at 6pm and goes till 9pm. It is a lot of fun with some competition. |
